Fooligans F.C.

'Fooligans F.C.' is a project highlighting extremism in sports. It's described as antisocial and violent behaviour by specific sports fans. In football, this subculture is hooliganism. Prominent in every football-playing country, they are notorious for the chaos, riots, and destruction caused.

I questioned the relationship between architecture and crowd management in sports stadiums. Does segregation between football fans act as a catalyst for antisocial behaviour? Does this violent, unnecessary warfare provoke feelings of deindividuation and disinhibition? Is there a correlation between exclusion and ownership of space with violence? What motivates this rebellious behaviour? What are the intentions and desires of this subculture? Who or what are they turning up for?

The actions of this subculture reflect poorly on football. Painting it in a detrimental light based on their actions. Distracting from the game itself. I've used the badge of allegiance to football, a football scarf, as a canvas to raise these questions.
